The Ole Miss chapter of the Black Student Union began in 1968 as a lobbying organization for African-American students. Today the social organization is one of the largest minority organizations on campus.
Words from the President
Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,
On behalf of the Black Student Union I want to thank you for visiting our website. The BSU has been committed to serving the University of Mississippi since 1968 and will continue to serve during this upcoming year.
Although the BSU has shifted from being advocacy focused toward a more socially focused organization, we are here to meet every need of the African-American community here at Ole Miss. It is our job to be servants and that is what we are here for; to serve. As servants, we want to help you with any problem that you may have or help create an event that you feel would benefit the Ole Miss community.
I invite you to explore our website and gain as much knowledge as you can about our organization. I look forward to seeing you at our next meeting or event. Please look into joining the Black Student Union. We want you to be a part of the BSU family.
