Dr. Thomas J. Reardon, the Dean of Students at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, MS, has worked in higher education for the last twenty-nine years. At Ole Miss, Dr. Reardon has served in numerous positions including Coordinator of Pre-Admissions, Assistant Director of Student Activities, Associate Dean of Students, and, for the last five years, as Dean of Students.
Known to everyone at Ole Miss as ‘Sparky’, Dr. Reardon received his B.A. from Ole Miss, his M. Ed. from Delta State University, and his Ph. D. from Ole Miss. He is a member of NASPA and the Association of Fraternity Advisors. In 1998, he was recognized by his peers in the American college fraternity movement with the Bob Shaeffer for long time, distinguished service to the profession. Students at Ole Miss selected him as the initial recipient of the Thomas Frist Student Service in 1995.
Dr. Reardon is a frequent speaker on college campuses. He has spoken at over one-hundred colleges on issues ranging from leadership to hazing prevention to crisis management. In 2003, Reardon appeared on the History Channel’s documentary on the history of fraternities. He is active in his local Catholic church and enjoys reading, golf, cooking and travel.

Melinda Pullen has been with the University of Mississippi since 2000. She earned her Bachelors of Education degree from Eastern Illinois University and a Masters Degree in Higher Education also from Eastern Illinois Univeristy. She has spent 15 years in the field of higher education and has worked at The Univeristy of Missouri - Rolla, The Univeristy of Northern Colorado, and Arkansas Tech University.
Her first seven years at Ole Miss were spent as Associate Director for Residence Life where she worked closely with the Dean of Students Office regarding student conduct, student organizations and emergency management. Melinda currently serves as advisor to The Associated Student Body and The Columns Society, and supervises the Assistant Dean for Judicial Affairs and the Assistant Dean for Student Organizations and Greek Life. Melinda was honored in 2003 as the staff recipient of the Thomas Frist Student Service award.

Valeria Beasley Ross is the Assistant Dean of Students in Multicultural Programming and Volunteer Services in the Office of Dean of Students at the University of Mississippi. She has a Bachelor of Social Science with a minor in Public Administration and a Master of Social Science with a minor in African American Studies both from the University of Mississippi. Valeria is Advisor to the Black Student Union, African Caribbean Student Association, National Pan-hellenic Council, and the University of Mississippi Gospel Choir.Valeria has been honored by several student organizations on the Univeristy of Mississippi campus. She additionally supervises the University of Mississippi's Americorps Campus Link Team.

Scott graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin (UTM) with a degree in Business Administration. At UTM, Scott played golf, competing at the Division I level as a student athlete. During his tenure he was also president of his fraternity, Pi Sigma Epsilon, as well as a leader for the student organization, Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
After completing his undergraduate course work, he relocated to Oxford, Mississippi where he earned his Master’s Degree in Higher Education, Student Personnel from The University of Mississippi. Scott became familiar with the Division of Student Life during his time in Financial Aid working as a graduate assistant. While his undergraduate degree is from UTM, he has been a Rebel for a long time, possessing an abounding appreciation and respect for the University as well as a deep love for Ole Miss.

Johnette Carwyle joined the Office of the Dean of Students in November, 2005, after enjoying a career in several University offices over the past 20 years. While working full-time, she is currently pursuing a degree in Liberal Arts. Johnette has been a resident of Lafayette County for many years and has two children. She is currently serving a three year term on the University’s Staff Council. Johnette serves on several committees. She also works with various community service organizations and assists with fundraising events.
