The Columns Society is a group of 12 men and 12 women who serve as the official hosts for the University. The group is based upon the principles of humble service, leadership and integrity. The Columns Society serves the University of Mississippi at all functions where it is desired to have students welcome guests and visitors to the University of Mississippi.
The Columns Society, housed within The Division of Student Affairs within The Office of Vice Chancellor, provides services to the offices of the Chancellor, the Provost, the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, University Relations, Athletics, Alumni, and Development and any other offices or officials at appropriate functions.
Named after one of the prominent symbols at the University of Mississippi, the column, The Columns Society seeks to advance the University of Mississippi through providing services and promoting pride in The University of Mississippi. No opportunity to serve the University as hosts is considered too small. Membership in The Columns Society is a significant commitment and is second only to a student’s academics. |
