| Welcome from the President |
I first would like to welcome you to our website. We have structured this site to provide you with a wealth of information regarding the many fraternities associated with the Interfraternity Council on the campus of the University of Mississippi, as well as the recruitment processes that we partake in. I now want to tell you what the fraternity system has to offer you at Ole Miss.
Two cornerstones of the Greek community are academic excellence and campus involvement. The importance of these two areas is evident through participation in the Associated Student Body, the Sally McDonnell-Barksdale Honors College, the Trent Lott Leadership Institute, the Croft Institute, and intercollegiate sports teams among several others. The encouragement of involvement outside of each chapter enhances the Greek experience and encourages the strong tradition of campus leadership within our community. Academically, the men’s Greek grade point average has consistently finished stronger than the all men’s average. When members excel during their college career, they are more prepared to continue to excel following their undergraduate experience.
Year after year, the Greek organizations at Ole Miss make it a priority to give back to the community. Over the past year, we have stepped beyond nationwide support to global support with the “Hope for Africa” campaign. We, as a Greek system, find that it is necessary to give back to those in need as our duty as Greek men and women.
As the Interfraternity Council, we strive every year to improve our Greek fraternity life. Due to the long standing tradition of Greek life at the University of Mississippi, we hold ourselves to the highest of standards. We continuously seek ways to strengthen the Greek community and experience at Ole Miss.
I now want to welcome your interest in fraternity life at Ole Miss. College is often referred to as the best four years of your life, and that is what we strive to accomplish as fraternity men. You can expect to gain lasting friendships, brotherhood, a great education, and a lot of fun. We take pride in our Greek system at The University of Mississippi and could not attain our goals every year without the help of each fraternity man. We challenge you to give every fraternity an equal opportunity to show what they have to offer you during your years at Ole Miss. I look forward to seeing you on campus, and hope you elect to join the fraternal movement.
